Karthick Naren, a Tamil filmmaker from India, was born on July 23, 1994. Before directing his first feature picture, Naren has directed several award-winning short films, including Pradhi and Nirangal Moondru. At the age of 22, Naren made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed and financially successful thriller Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru. Knight Nostalgia Filmotainment, Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru's home banner, financed the film. The film became one of Tamil cinema's highest-grossing debut films after reaching 100 days in theatres. Naren became one of Tamil cinema's most promising directors as a result of the film.
